Welcome to Mothers of Afghanistan, a UK- based charity established in 2017, that is committed to supporting the women and children of Afghanistan.
Since the conflict started, over 15 million people have been internally displaced, thousands of families have been torn apart and what remains are the widows and orphans. Years of war have led these vulnerable people to lose hope in a better life.
Prompted by the principles and teachings in Islam of generosity, our aim is to provide these people with the necessities they have been deprived of and, most importantly, to instill hope in their hearts.
Our team consists of passionate and dedicated individuals who share a common goal of creating positive change in Afghanistan. We work closely with local communities, partner organizations, and government agencies to ensure that our programs and initiatives are effective, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of the people we serve.
At the heart of our work is the belief that every Afghan woman and child deserves the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life, free from violence, oppression, and discrimination. We are committed to supporting education, healthcare initiatives and empowering women and girls to take an active role in their communities.
Our programs include monthly food package donations, sewing class, daily bread distribution, building water wells, orphan sponsorships, healthcare and emergency relief.
We rely on the generosity of donors and volunteers to fund our programs and initiatives, and we are grateful for the support we receive from individuals and organisations who share our vision.
Thank you for visiting our website. We invite you to learn more about our work and how you can support our efforts to create a better future for Afghanistan.
We knew that we had to do more than to protest on social media. We wanted to come out and support the marginalized population of Afghanistan. However, at that time, it was not possible to establish an organization that provided immediate emotional, financial and physical support to deserving women. Little by little, we started funding 2 families on our own. We donated necessities to these family first, then realized that people needed more help. Not only that, but we found that people were willing to help us too. Thus, we started our full-fledged campaign to donate as much as we could to people in need.
Since 2017, we have been providing essentials, including food, clothing, and education. As our institution grew, we diversified our approach and initiated infrastructure development projects. So far, we have successfully built several mosques, schools, and water wells. We believe that Islam is not just a religion, but it is a way of life that covers all aspects like the economy, social life, politics, etc. Thus, owing to our belief, in 2019, we have sponsored 300 students at an orphanage, Al Banina wal Banaat. We aim to serve the people of Afghanistan till our last breath.
Our mission is to make the lives of millions of Afghans better by providing:
We have constructed more than 10 water wells in areas of Afghanistan where previously residents would have had to travel far to get water to drink. By constructing these wells, we have provided water to several destitute communities.
We began our bread appeal in 2020, distributing bread on the streets of Afghanistan. This isn’t just any old bread: we provide freshly baked bread to families. Since then, we have now established bread distribution points with cards provided to the citizens to ensure they receive their daily loaves
We have been supporting families who are unable to afford medical treatment. This includes eye operations, kidney transplants and providing medication for those who need it. We have helped with burn victims, providing money for all essential treatments.
We visited schools in villages, providing them with school bags and equipment. We have also helped with payment of school fees, sponsoring students for their education. We have helped out teachers, providing them with support because there are many people who voluntarily teach but no one supports them financially, so we have been helping these women out.

We, at Mothers of Afghanistan, are a shariah compliant charity, working under the guidance of scholars, to ensure that your money is delivered with the utmost trust. We have a 100% donation policy, meaning we do not take a single penny of your money for admin costs and rather, every penny that you provide goes directly to those in need. As a charity, we ensure to provide photo and video evidence of all projects to donors to reassure that their money has gone to the right place
Our team works tirelessly to help the people in need. They truly believe that ensuring the safety, well-being, and rights of mothers and children can save the whole generation.
We have a team on the ground in Afghanistan who work tirelessly, despite their own personal commitments. Some of them are still studying and they aren’t the most well to do. But they still love going out and helping those who they feel need it even more and they dedicate their time to help our charity.
We also have a team working the UK, running all the behind the scenes and working on the projects and appeals. Currently, it is all being done by a group of sisters and we hope to establish ourselves in an office soon, with the help of Allah.
