Sadaqah refers to voluntary acts of charity and giving in Islam. It is an act of kindness and generosity that can be done at any time and in any amount. Sadaqah can take various forms, such as giving money, donating goods, providing assistance, or performing acts of service. It is considered a virtuous act and a means of seeking closeness to Allah and purifying one's wealth.

"Lillah" means "for the sake of Allah." When combined with Sadaqah, it specifies that the charitable giving is done purely for the sake of pleasing Allah and seeking His reward. Sadaqah lillah can be given to various causes, such as supporting charitable organizations, funding educational initiatives, assisting the poor and needy, or any other form of good deeds performed solely for the pleasure of Allah.

Zakah, unlike Sadaqah, is an obligatory form of charity in Islam. It is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and has specific rules and regulations regarding its calculation, eligibility, and distribution. It is calculated as a fixed percentage (usually 2.5%) of the eligible assets and is primarily directed towards specific categories of recipients, including the poor, the needy, debtors, and those involved in the administration and distribution of Zakah. The purpose of Zakah is to purify one's wealth and fulfill the financial responsibilities towards the less fortunate members of society.
